The easy path - Haarlem - 2017

OVERVIEW

In 2017 Rinpoche continued his extraordinary commentary of The Easy Path which he began in 2014, at the request of Kadam Chöling Holland.

The Easy Path, composed by the 1st Panchen Lama Lobsang Chökyi Gyältsen (1570-1662), is one of the eight great Lamrims of Tibet. It condenses the entire spiritual path in the form of instructions directly intended for meditation and by applying them many practitioners have obtained the highest realizations.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THESE TEACHINGS?

In three days of profound teachings, Rinpoche explains the extraordinary value of our human existence, and the path that can lead us to liberation from all suffering:
    1. Realizing that we have a precious human life endowed with very specific qualities
    2. The extraordinary potential of such an existence
    3. The real meaning of renunciation
    4. The origin of suffering: a form of ignorance through which we identify ourselves as an absolute identity
    5. Liberating ourself from all suffering through wisdom, supported by meditative serenity and ethics
    6. The fundamental cause of buddhahood: bodhicitta, the spontaneous aspiration to achieve buddhahood so as to be able to accomplish the good of all sentient beings.
To assist study and practice we are also providing an exceptional translation of the precious root text of The Easy Path.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Meditating on our human life’s exceptional qualities and becoming aware of all its potential is key to generating enormous enthusiasm for spiritual practice. When we identify the causes of our suffering and fully understand that it is possible to free ourselves from them, we can experience the intense and authentic urge to free ourselves. This is called renunciation. Subsequently, on seeing that all living beings share the same situation, and feeling the close ties that unite us all, the pure altruism praised by all the buddhas can arise in us: bodhicitta, the spirit of enlightenment. In this teaching, Rinpoche takes you ever deeper into these three aspects of the path.
